    Fremont Street Experience, Business Owners Pay Tribute To Hsieh

    The canopy at Freemont Street Experience showed images of Tony Hsieh Saturday night, as some gathered to remember the retired CEO of Zappos.com.

    Hsieh died Friday from injuries sustained in a house fire in Connecticut on November 18. He was 46.

    Circa Sets October For Partial Opening

    The first five floors, which includes the casino and a three-story, stadium-style sportsbook, will open in October.

    City Agrees To Public-Private Partnership To Fix Up Vacant Hotel

    The Las Vegas City Council unanimously approved a public-private partnership with a troubled downtown hotel to turn it into apartments, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

    The city will work with the owner of the Safari Motel on a $440,000 renovation.

    Downtown Street Closing For Courthouse Construction

    The city of Las Vegas announced it will close a block of downtown to all traffic and pedestrians next week.

    First Street from East Clark Avenue to East Bonneville Avenue will close beginning August 19 to facilitate construction of the new Las Vegas Municipal Court building.
