A red flag warning has been issued Wednesday for much of Western Nevada, including Reno, Gerlach and the site of Burning Man in the Black Rock Desert. 

The advisory pertains to the possibility of strong winds and low humidity, combining to make conditions right for erratic wildfires.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Federal officials long have raised concerns about the air quality at the annual Burning Man celebration in the Nevada desert where festival-goers have become accustomed to getting covered with playa dust.

Burning Man festival organizers are awaiting a federal environmental impact statement from the Bureau of Land Management, which is expected to reveal whether the festival will be allowed to increase its maximum population to 100,000.
