Suspects arrested in Las Vegas encampment shooting that killed 2, injured 3

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police announced the arrests of two people in a December shooting that left two men dead.

The shooting was reported about 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 near Sandhill Road and Charleston Boulevard. Officers arrived to an unhoused encampment with five men who had been shot.

All five were taken to University Medical Center, where one of them was pronounced dead. Another person later died, and they were identified by police as Timothy Brenton and Ashley Burrell.

On Jan. 5, police said they identified Cristobal Perez, 31, and Kylee Au Young, 21, as suspects in the shooting. They had been arrested the day prior by the criminal apprehension team.

Perez faces two counts of open murder and three counts of attempted murder. Au Young faces two counts of open murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder.
