How would you describe yourself to voters?

Businessperson. Former State Senator. Family man who loves Nevada and wants to help reform our election laws and run the office with the perspective of a small businessperson.

What do you see as the top issues in this campaign?

Election Integrity is the top issue for the SOS office. However, 80% of the office deals with working with Nevada businesses. We need someone who understands what it takes to run a business in the Silver State.

In your view, what is the role and responsibility of the Secretary of State?

Serving as Chief Elections Officer is one of the most important roles in this position. I have the political experience and proven track record of getting important legislation passed to effectively work on election reform. But the majority of the work is regulating all businesses, commercial recordings, securities, etc. We need Nevada Businesspeople in charge of Nevada Businesses.

Do you support tightening election security laws? If so, how?

100%! Ending ballot harvesting and requiring a photo ID to vote are simple, rational steps to prevent fraud and restore the faith in our elections.

There is a substantial part of the population that believes voter fraud affected the outcome of
the 2020 election. How would you, as Nevada’s Secretary of State, work to assure voters that
they can cast their ballot safely and easily?

First we must close potential loopholes (ending ballot harvesting, requiring a photo ID). We need to then effectively communicate those changes to the public. All votes count, regardless of political party. Citizens must know their vote counts and transparent effective management of our elections is crucial for our very democracy.
