Name

Dan Schwartz

Occupation

Former State Treasurer (2015-2019)

Political Office

Lt Governor

Political Affiliation

Republican

How would you describe yourself to voters?

Conservative Republican (with a proven track record in Carson City)

What do you see as the top issues in this campaign?

Three issues: (1) Improve K-12 Education; (2) Diversify the economy; (3) Insure Electoral integrity (Voter ID); and, (4) Keep Pres. Trump's immigration policies (preserve Title 42)

The role of the Lt. Governor is limited. How would you use the office to serve the state?

When I was elected State Treasurer, everyone thought I would sit back and count the money. They were wrong. Expect the same if I'm elected LG.

A chief responsibility of the Lt. Governor is chairing the state tourism board. What steps will you take to diversify Nevada’s economy and spur job growth?

Nevada doesn't have a tourism problem: we welcome 45-50 million tourists per year while the casinos have generated over $1 billion in monthly gaming revenue for the past several months. We DO have a problem in education: when I was elected Treasurer, we were rated 50/50 in K-12 schools amongst the states. We have since rocketed to #48 (USNWR). Poor schools not only impact the kids, but businesses as well. Assume you're an up-and-coming CEO or middle manager: would you really move to a state with the worst schools in the nation. I don't think so.

Why are you the best candidate for this position?

I am the ONLY candidate who has served in the military (US Army, 1972-74); had a successful career as an entrepreneur and investor; and spent time in Carson City as an elected official (State Treasurer, 2015-2019). I have a proven record of fighting for Nevadans: I was the first to criticize the biggest tax hike in Nevada history; was the only elected official to call out a $300 million scam to build an electric car factory; and led the charge on parental choice in education. I also multiplied returns on the State's general fund 5x and cut processing time on unclaimed property from 120 to 25 days. Look for similar results if I am elected Lt Governor.
