Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak ordered flags lowered across the state in honor of former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who died on Wednesday.

Flags at the State Capitol and all state public buildings will be lowered to half staff until sunset on March 27.

“Secretary Madeleine Albright was a trailblazer and a skilled diplomat. As the first female secretary of state in U.S. history, she helped paved the way for a generation of leaders,” said Sisolak in a written media statement. “Kathy and I are sending our thoughts to her family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.”
