United States' Justin Schoenefeld competes during the mixed team aerials finals at the 2022 Winter Olympics, Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022, in Zhangjiakou, China

This year’s winter Olympics in Beijing have been anything but smooth sailing for American athletes. Allegations of cheating and favoritism have dogged the games, and the U-S has fallen behind in the medal count.

With more than a week to go before the games end, some of Team USA’s top athletes are gearing up to make a serious comeback. That includes David Wise, a two-time, freestyle skiing gold medalist. He’s among the dozen or so athletes competing in this year’s games who train and call the Reno/Tahoe area home.
