Bullying and suicide remain big issues for young Nevadans.

In 2019, a survey found 76 percent of middle and high school students here experienced bullying. Nearly 42 percent were bullied online.

And suicide was the number one cause of death for those aged 12 to 19.

Now a new movie, Butter, is due out February 25. While in the style of a 1980s teen comedy, it focuses on bullying, suicide and teen obesity.

It stars Las Vegas actor Alex Kersting, who graduated from Coronado High School.

The movie will screen locally at Galaxy Cannery 16.
