County Accepting Applications For Open Assembly Seat

Clark County is now accepting applications from residents interested in representing Nevada State Assembly District 42 for the next two years.

The seat was held by Alexander Assefa, who resigned earlier this month.

The application for the assembly seat is available through the county’s website.

Applications are due by noon next Tuesday, January 26. Under state law, the County Commission fills vacancies in the state Legislature.

Eligible appointees must reside in the district they are seeking to represent and be of the same political party as the resigning member. Assefa is a Democrat.

The appointee will serve until the November 2022 election.
