Official: Nevada 'COVID Trace' Should Pair With Google-Apple

LAS VEGAS (AP) — State officials say a coronavirus contact tracing app launched last week should work well with a similar tool that Google and Apple are rolling out to alert people who might have been exposed to COVID-19.

Deputy state health administrator Julia Peek said Wednesday there have been 20,000 downloads of the free state app since it debuted.

The tracing app is separate from an emergency management notification widely sent out to Las Vegas-area cellphone users on Tuesday along with an electronic alert tone.
