Nevada City Council Rejects Offer To Take Over Land Parcel

RENO, Nev.  — A Nevada city council has rejected a proposal that would have folded land in the Sierra foothills into the city's jurisdiction.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported the Reno City Council unanimously rejected the proposal concerning more than 1.6 square miles of property.

The proposal was a request from landowner Evans Creek LLC of Roseville, Minn., which sought to shift its jurisdiction from Washoe County to Reno.
