Nevadans From Coronavirus Stricken Cruise Ship Will Quarantine At Home

Nevadans on the COVID-19-stricken Grand Princess cruise ship, which docked in Oakland Monday, will get to spend their time in quarantine in Nevada, Governor Sisolak said.

In a letter sent to the passengers, the governor said they will be contacted to evaluate their home situation and help them get prepared for the required isolation period.

The Grand Princess has about 3,500 passengers and crew and 21 of those tested positive for the virus.

There were about 49 Nevadans on board.

Under a plan outlined by California Gov. Gavin Newsom, passengers who are not from California would be sent to military bases in Texas and Georgia for testing and a 14-day quarantine.
