Report: Reno offers to pay 2 cyclists after bike crash

RENO — A newspaper says the city of Reno has offered to pay a former Olympic cyclist and another biker $10,000 each to settle claims involving a bike crash that caused injuries and bicycle damages.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported Tuesday that Franz Weber and David Larson filed the claims following the crash, which was caused by fresh paint on part of a road.

Both cyclists argued there were no signs, such as cones or a visible city truck, warning them of the wet paint.
