Bill To Ban Smoking, Vaping In City Parks Withdrawn

Using electronic cigarettes Las Vegas city parks will remain legal after the sponsor of a bill outlawing vaping withdrew it.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Councilman Brian Knudsen struck the bill from council consideration last week. He had introduced the bill to ban vaping in city parks, but he said he believed the bill did not have enough votes to pass, and that he will seek to bring more awareness to the seriousness of vaping.

The city already has a law against smoking regular cigarettes in some areas of city parks, and this proposal would have added electronic devices to the ban while expanding the smoking ban to all areas of a park.
