The president of the Desert Research Institute has resigned.
After two years in the position, Kristen Averyt announced Monday she’s stepping down for personal reasons.
DRI is a research center that is part of the Nevada System of Higher Education.

NSHE told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that Averyt's last day will be June 30.
Averyt was DRI’s first female president in its 60-year history.
