Carson City District Attorney Jason Woodbury says he’ll review a police report and statements after two Douglas County Commissioners got in a fight at a public meeting on May 16.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that the review will take place this week, with a decision on the possible filing of charges to follow.
During the meeting, Chairman Barry Penzel and Commissioner John Engel debated the merits of the project, and their argument escalated. Penzel issued a statement two days after the incident expressing regret over the incident.
Engel told the Gazette-Journal the day after the incident that he spent the night in the hospital following the altercation, saying he was disappointed at the events.
