Suspicious Package Removed From Parking Lot Of Reno Mall

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police say a suspicious package has been removed from the parking lot of a shopping mall where some businesses were evacuated Saturday.

Officer Travis Warren says a bomb squad took the package form Meadowood Mall to a secure location for further investigation and that no information about it was immediately available.

Warren says a member of the public reported the suspicious package to authorities and he says police are grateful for that notification regardless of whether the item did or didn't pose a real threat to public safety.
