Reno City Council Expected To Vote On Strip Club Rules

The Reno City Council is set to cast a significant vote Wednesday about the future of strip clubs in the city.

Proposed amendments to the Reno Municipal Code would prohibit alcohol sales at strip clubs in areas zoned for redevelopment.

Business owners say the move would essentially force existing strip clubs out of downtown.

Improperly zoned clubs would be forced to move to industrial areas within five years. The council will also vote on extra restrictions for the clubs, such as prohibiting rooms for private lap dances and increasing the minimum age for dancers from 18 to 21.
