A draft report released by the Bureau of Land Management attempts to analyze the impact of continued growth of the Burning Man festival on the Black Rock Desert.
The environmental impact statement follows a request from Burning Man’s organizers for a special recreation permit that would allow an increase in staff and participants from 80,000 to 100,000 people beginning this year.
Burning Man organizers are looking over the report released Friday, and say they’ll have a response after a thorough review.
