The Bureau of Land Management has named a new state director for its Nevada office.
The agency announced Thursday that 20-year BLM veteran Jon Raby will take the position in Reno next month.
Raby is currently serving as the acting director for Montana and the Dakotas.

In Nevada, he’ll lead the management of 48 million acres of public land and 59 million acres of Federal mineral resources.
