In Washington, D.C., all eyes were glued to TVs during the Supreme Court hearings of Brett Kavanaugh. John L. Smith and says the feeling was eerie in a city known to be always on the move.

And one astonishing result of the October  1 shooting of last year is how people in Las Vegas came together as a community. But it's really been here all along.

John L. talks about that and some of the reporters and editors he's known, some of whom have passed, who were recently inducted into the Nevada Press Association's Hall of Fame.
