Report: Rosen, Heller Benefited From Dark Money

Despite both of the candidate’s spoken opposition to supposed dark money in politics, a new report shows both Democratic candidate for Senate Jacky Rosen and Republican incumbent Dean Heller have benefitted almost $17 million combined from outside political advocacy groups.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reviewed federal campaign finance data compiled by ProPublica and reports that tally does not include some $3.7 million donated to the candidates by traditional Political Action Committees.

Unlike traditional PACs, super PACs and dark money groups can’t directly donate to or coordinate with each candidate’s campaign.
