While Nevada Republican Senator Dean Heller is indicating support for President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Nevada Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto plans to meet with conservative Judge Brett Kavanaugh before making a decision.
Cortez Masto said in a statement Kavanaugh could represent a tie-breaking vote on several divisive issues and she intends to “review his qualifications thoroughly.”
Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has said he will oppose the nomination and is encouraging his colleagues to do so as well.
