Henderson city officials announced they plan to hire 37 new full-time employees and start planning for a new fire station.
The plans are laid out in the 2018-2019 budget for the city, which currently sits at approximately $270 million.
The fire station would be in east Henderson’s District 81, which according to officials is one of the busiest.
An increase in property taxes, consolidated taxes and an increase in revenue from recreational marijuana can all be attributed to the budget boost.
