Student Who Brought Knife To Reno School Sent To Treatment

RENO, NV (AP) — A Nevada middle school student who caused a school lockdown in February after authorities said he brought a knife to class has been sent to a treatment facility in Utah.

 

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the 13-year-old student from Pine Middle School in Reno was found not competent to stand trial. He is being sent to a treatment center that specializes in behavioral misconduct and substance abuse treatment.

It's not clear why the student brought a knife to school but several students reported witnessing him stabbing at a door and threatening to harm himself.
