City Of Las Vegas Considering Allow Pot Lounges

Las Vegas city officials haven’t given up on the idea of creating marijuana lounges in the valley.

A draft regulation proposes that lounges would be allowed to obtain separate licenses to sell marijuana paraphernalia, and sale of the plant itself would not be allowed.

During a council meeting this week, marijuana advocates said providing legal spaces to consume marijuana would reduce the number of smokers in popular tourist areas like the Las Vegas Strip or other gaming areas.

A draft proposal might allow the lounges to open by March or April 2018. If it does happen, Las Vegas would be the first city in the country to allow such businesses.
