County Approves Plans For Water Sports Park

County officials approved plans for an $800 million water sports park and hotel to be built south of the strip.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Clark County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve plans for the 130-acre project at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sunset Road.

The sports park would include a white water rapids lake, three cable wakeboarding lakes, an indoor mountain biking track, indoor skydiving and a pool with water slides.

The developer is Josh Kearney, an Australian native who isn’t talking about a construction timeline yet, but did say he received Federal Aviation Administration approvals as well as the county go-ahead.
