Badlands Golf Course Controversy Goes Before Las Vegas City Council Again

A highly contentious plan to develop the Badlands golf course flared up in a city council meeting again Wednesday.

The plan would convert the Badlands golf course into houses and condominiums. The developer proposing the plan, Yohan Lowie, threatened to withdraw the plan, stop watering the golf course lands and sell the land if the council further delayed a vote.

The council then denied the four proposals and delayed voting on the larger development plan for at least a month. The development has spurred opposing sides in the neighborhood and played into this year’s municipal election in which incumbent Bob Beers was ousted by newcomer Steve Seroka.
