Bubonic Plague A Problem At Lake Tahoe In The Summer, Forest Service Warns

The Lake Tahoe Basin Forest Service wants to keep the public aware that the bubonic plague is still a threat in the Lake Tahoe Region.

The bacteria was detected in the Lake Tahoe area last summer, and it becomes more common when the summer weather begins to warm. Officials with the department said plague is usually found in fleas and rodents.
