Las Vegas Icon 'Vegas Vicki' Leaving Her Perch

Another Las Vegas landmark bites the dust.

Officials have said the iconic neon sign Vegas Vickie will be taken down next week, making way for a new Fremont Street resort. The kicking neon cowgirl is currently perched above the closed strip club Girls of Glitter Gulch.

Derek Stevens, the CEO of the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate did not say what he was planning to do with the sign except to say in a statement that he is searching for the best possible home. The new resort project will replace the Las Vegas Club as well as the Glitter Gulch building and the Mermaid’s Casino.

Stevens and his brother Greg bought the properties in 2016.
