Nevada Lawmakers Face Friday Deadline

State legislators are scheduled to vote Friday on several high-profile bills because midnight is the deadline for moving a bill out of the second housing, meaning bills that were proposed in the Assembly must pass out of the Senate and those first proposed in the Senate must pass out of the Assembly.

Some of the bills that are expected to get voted on Friday, according to the Nevada Independent, include a bill that establishes treatment programs for some prostitution offenses, a bill that increases the penalties for elder abuse, and a bill that establishes the last Saturday in September as “Public Lands Day” in Nevada.

Some bills are exempt from the deadline.
