Utah May Become Toughest In Nation On DUI Laws

Utah Gov. Gary Herbert said today that he will sign a controversial bill to make Utah’s laws on drunken driving the toughest in the nation.

The bill would make Utah the first to lower the blood-alcohol limit to be legally drunk while driving from .08 to .06 blood alcohol content.

He compared the move to similar laws other countries such as Italy and France have put in place, and responded that he does not agree with critics that the law is mainly being pushed by Mormons who do not drink.
