BLM Holds Meeting In Mesquite Over Gold Butte

Officials with the BLM held a hearing in Mesquite Thursday to address concerns over the Gold Butte National Monument designation made late last year.

Even though the BLM has pledged not many changes will take place in the area, not everybody was pleased with the government's decision to make Gold Butte a monument.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports some in attendance were affiliated with Cliven Bundy, the Bunkerville rancher whose April 2014 standoff with BLM officials is well known.

Alleged affiliates of Bundy are on trial in Las Vegas this week in connection to that event.
