Legislative Committee Unhappy With CCSD Overhaul Process

State Senator Michael Roberson sent a letter to Clark County School Board trustees yesterday, implying the trustees are violating the law passed to implement the process of a district overhaul.

Roberson leads the advisory committee overseeing the CCSD reorganization. The Las Vegas Review Journal reportsRoberson sent the letter a day before trustees will discuss a proposal to hire a representative to address all matters relating to the reorganization.

The proposal would essentially remove Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky from the implementation process and shift his focus elsewhere.

Some view the proposal as an active effort to block the reorganization which would shift the district to a school-empowerment model by 2017.
