Kids Count Survey Shows Marginal Improvements For Nevada

Nevada no longer has the worst primary and secondary education system in the country, according to the latest edition of the Kids Count report.

Instead? The state is second-worst.

The report from the Annie E. Casey Foundation released Tuesday says Nevada is 49th out of the 50 states for education, with only New Mexico faring worse.

Nevada lingers toward the bottom in a number of metrics related to childhood development.

The state is 47th in overall child wellbeing, and 40th in economic wellbeing and childhood healthcare.

Meanwhile, Utah ranked 10th in overall child wellbeing, while Arizona and California were 45th and 36th respectively in that field.
