The Chris Beard era at UNLV is over -- seven days after it began.
In a statement today, UNLV said Beard was joining Texas Tech as its head coach.
This comes after Beard signed a deal with UNLV last week to be the Runnin' Rebels' coach.

UNLV will receive $1 million payout from Texas Tech for buying out Beard's contract.
Athletics Director Tina Kunzer-Murphy called the move "unprecedented" and "extremely disappointing."
