Sands Executive Retires From Board

Casino operator Las Vegas Sands Corp. says top former company executive Michael Leven has retired from its board of directors after 16 years.

The Las Vegas-based owner of resorts on the Las Vegas Strip disclosed the move in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Monday.

Las Vegas Sands is headed by billionaire Sheldon Adelson. A company official didn't immediately respond Wednesday to messages about Leven's departure.

The SEC filing called Leven's retirement immediate, and said he was also retiring from the board of the company's subsidiary Sands China Ltd. It owns resorts in Macau.

Leven joined the Las Vegas Sands board in August 2004 and succeeded William Weidner as company president and chief operating officer in April 2009.

Robert Goldstein succeeded Leven as president and COO in December 2014.
