A ranger led night hike to see the luminous flowers of the Joshua tree as they bloom by moonlight. Bring water, a flashlight and appropriate footwear. Please arrive 30 mins. before the hike. Date and time are subject to change.
Beyond the normal $7 per vehicle entry fee, there is no charge to participate in the hike.
It is appropriate for children ages 7 and up, and will last about two hours. Total distance covered will be two miles. Participants should be comfortable moving over rock and uneven terrain.

Cockroach Theatre’s “The Nether” at Arts Square Theatre
I’m very excited about this play by Jennifer Hadley, which promises to be a creepy, poignant science fiction mystery-thriller about a future in which people can play out their darkest desires via an online avatar.

Farmers Market and pick your own fresh food at Gilcrease Orchard the northwest part of the valley.
Some of my favorite things are in season right now, including kale and asparagus. I haven’t been out there for a while, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the farm is doing. Note to those who are interested: Hats, walking shoes, sunscreen are highly recommend but no pets.
It is free to get into the orchard but you will of course have to pay for the vegetables and fruit you pick.
