A federal judge in Utah is expected to consider Wednesday whether a member of the Bundy ranching family should stay behind bars while he awaits trial on charges in an armed 2014 standoff over unpaid grazing fees in Nevada.
Dave Bundy's lawyers say he should be released because he's a business owner and father of six with no criminal record. He was arrested at a home he was building in Delta, Utah.
Prosecutors say he's facing serious charges and should stay in custody.
Dave Bundy is the 39-year-old son of Cliven Bundy. He, his father and three brothers are among 19 people accused of leading an armed standoff to stop a roundup of cows from public land near Cliven Bundy's ranch.
Family members say Dave Bundy only recorded the standoff and tried to soothe tensions.
