Officials with a powerful Las Vegas union say they've resolved a flap over Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders' campaign staffers getting into casino employee dining rooms to reach out to its members.
The leader of the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 issued a statement Thursday morning condemning any campaign staffers who falsely claim an affiliation with the union to gain access.
Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said later Thursday that he apologized to the union and reminded staffers not to enter workers' dining spaces. Both parties issued statements saying the situation was resolved.
The union represents more than 57,000 people and is a force in Nevada politics. The group endorsed Barack Obama in the 2008 election, but has said it won't endorse a candidate before Nevada's caucuses in late February.
