Elko County commissioners are finalizing plans to raise sales taxes.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports the commission will meet today to hash out the ordinance that will govern where the tax dollars will go.
Back in December, the commission voted 4-1 to increase the sales tax from 6.8 percent to 7.1 percent, no sooner than March 1.

The tax increase will fund road and fire infrastructure development, and is set to bring in around $3.5 million in additional revenue.
