Democrats are revving up their fundraising efforts as they try to regain control of the Nevada Legislature.
Campaign fundraising reports due last week show the state Democratic party raised nearly twice what the state Republican party did in 2015.
The Assembly Democratic Caucus raised fourteen times as much as the Assembly Republican Caucus last year. A conservative "red wave" in the 2014 elections left Democrats with a 17-25 minority in the Assembly after years of controlling the agenda as the majority party.
The Senate Democratic Caucus reported raising three times as much as their Republican counterparts. Democrats are outnumbered 10-11 in the Senate.
Hefty sums are flowing into a battle for Democratic state Sen. Joyce Woodhouse's seat, and a race to fill the soon-to-be-vacant seat of Republican Sen. Mark Lipparelli.
