A new candidate has announced plans to run for a seat soon to be vacated on the Nevada System Of Higher Education Board of Regents.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports Cathy McAdoo, the executive director of the PACE Coalition, will run to fill the district 8 seat being vacated by Kevin Melcher.
McAdoo, who lives in Elko, is a member of or works with a variety of educational nonprofits throughout the state, including the Nevada KIDS Count Advisory Board.

The filing period opens in March.
Terri Clark of Spring Creek announced earlier she would also contest the seat.
