In a manner of speaking – the stars are aligned. Beginning next August, Great Basin National Park in Nevada will be home to a full-scale, research-grade astronomical observatory.
Several institutions, including the Great Basin National Park Foundation, successfully joined forces to raise the money for the project.
The Great Basin Observatory is slated to open next August, in time for the 100 th anniversary of the National Park Service.
