Students at the College of Southern Nevada are feeling the impact of budget cuts.

Last week, the College of Southern Nevada introduced sweeping budget cuts in order to make up for a $1.8 million budget shortfall.

As a result, students may have noticed some changes during their finals week at the College of Southern Nevada. Immediate cuts were made to some services such as tutoring and library resources.

The shortfall could give partial blame on a change to the funding formula approved by the 2013 legislature, according to Mary Kay Bailey, the College of Southern Nevada's VP of Finance.

Bailey tells KNPR why the cuts were necessary, and how the decisions were made about what needed to go.
