Student Wins Right To Form Anti-Abortion Club At School

A Las Vegas area high school student will be allowed to start an anti-abortion club on campus after filing a lawsuit against the school district.

The Thomas More Society which is representing student Angelique Clark said it received a letter from the Clark County School District's lawyer saying Clark could form a student-led club that would not be sponsored by the school or related to curriculum.

The lawsuit accused the district of infringing Clark's right to free speech when administrators denied her request to start the club. The district had earlier said she didn't have a required faculty adviser.

Clark is now a junior at West Career & Technical Academy in the Las Vegas area.

The Thomas More Society says it's negotiating a final settlement with the district.
