Father Fights To Keep Parking Meters Away From His Downtown Church

St. Joseph's Catholic Church

Father Courtney Edward Krier fought back when he noticed the city of Las Vegas was preparing to put parking meters up in front his church.

Redevelopment is definitely changing downtown Las Vegas.

Some of it is good – there are more places to eat and drink, for instance -- but if you like free parking, you probably aren’t too happy.

Father Courtney Edward Krier was one of those people. Last week, he noticed city workers drilling holes to install parking meters in front of his tiny, 33-year-old St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

In his mind, the city was taxing people to attend his church.

So he fought back.
