22 Arrested In Las Vegas Area Suspected Of Gang Affiliation
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities arrested 22 gang members in the Las Vegas area as part of a nationwide operation led by immigration officials.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations said in a statement that nearly 1,000 gang members and associates from 239 different gangs were arrested across the county as part of the organization's six-week Project Wildfire.
The operation ran for about five weeks ending March 31.
It included the arrests of a 23-year-old with a prior robbery conviction on drug and weapons charges and a 22-year-old on a felony warrant for home invasion.
The 22 offenders had ties to a dozen street gangs, including Hustlers Taking Over, Del Monico Crips and Public Enemy Number One.
