LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas area real estate agents are attributing a 2 percent month-to-month decrease in January in the median price of single-family homes to a seasonal slowdown and fewer homes changing hands.
Statistics released Tuesday by the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors show the median southern Nevada home price in January was an even $200,000.
That was down 2 percent from $204,000 in December, and followed modest 1 percent monthly increases in the last two months of 2014.
Association President Keith Lynam notes that median home prices are up 8 percent from January 2014, when a comparable single-family home sold for $185,000.
The median price of area homes peaked in June 2006 at $315,000, then bottomed out in January 2012 at $118,000.
