Lois Tarkanian Will Run To Keep Seat On LV City Council

Las Vegas City Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian announced today she’s running for re-election to a third full term in this year’s municipal election.

There had been speculation that she would forego a third run because of the health problems of her husband, former UNLV basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian. She has served 10 years on the council after being appointed to the post in 2005 and winning two subsequent elections.

Tarkanian represents Ward 1, which covers the southwest part of the city’s core, generally located west the I-15 and north of Sahara Avenue, stretching to Buffalo Drive and Washington Avenue.
